After your mixture has sat for 24 hours in the freezer you can remove it and load it into the machine. The Creami takes 24 hours to freeze because since you aren’t using any ice you are essentially turning your ingredients into the giant block of ice that will then be churned by the metal blades into the creamy ice cream consistency we all know and love. Then cover and put in the freezer for 24 hours. Whisk it again to make sure everything is good and mixed. After everything is nice and mixed you will pour the ingredients into the creami container and add your second cup of almond milk to take it to the “max fill” line. Also, it doesn’t have that chalky aftertaste that a lot of whey protein powders have, which leads it to being a GREAT choice to use in making ice cream. The reason I choose this protein powder is because it is low-temperate processed so you do not get a lot of the stomach upset that people typically get from whey protein. I use 1st Phorm’s Level-1 Mint Ice Cream Sandwich. To make this recipe you will need a mint chocolate cookie protein powder. Not to be deterred I decided I would take bits and pieces from each recipe and experiment to see what worked. Most recipes used pre-made liquid protein drinks. I spent hours and hours looking for recipes that turned protein powders into ice cream using this magical kitchen gadget. So believe me, I was very eager to try making mint chocolate chip ice cream as my first experiment when my husband gifted me my Ninja Creami for Mother’s Day this year. Not only that, but it gives off Thin-Mint vibes, which, if you are a Girl-Scout Cookie lover, means you can have the taste of everyone’s favorite cookie, all-year round. There is something so refreshing about the mix of fresh mint flavor paired with a creamy, rich, chocolate. To me, Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is a classic. ![]()
